In the late 1970s, in the Poggio Rosso area, a series of selected clones of sangiovese and colorino were planted. Today, a selection of the best of those grapes still goes to produce this Riserva, with an addition of some pugnitello starting from vintage 2004. A wine of immense depth and superb elegance, it was one of the first single-vineyard Chianti Classico of the area. A limited-production wine that matures for some 20 months in 500-litre tonneaux and a further 12 months in the bottle.
